Writer and director Martha Fiennes will be holding a question and answer session at Wimbledon Film Club next Thursday.
The club are screening her hit film Chromophobia at the Odeon Wimbledon and afterwards Fiennes, who also directed Onegin and is the sister of Ralph and Joseph Fiennes, will be on-hand to give an insight into her thought processes behind the movie and answer audience questions.
The film, which was chosen to close the Cannes Film Festival in 2005 and stars Ralph Fiennes, Kristin Scott Thomas, Damian Lewis and Penelope Cruz, is set in Blair-era Britain and revolves around an investigative journalist who chances upon the career-making story of a friend’s corruption.
Chairman of the film club, Johnjoe McFadden, was pleased to again be hosting an event in support of the British film industry.
"At the Wimbledon Film Club we are always keen to support and promote the British film industry," he said.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to see a little-seen British film with a superb cast on the big screen, and to hear first-hand from a prominent film-maker about the creative process of writing and directing."
The club is now in its fourth year and has won six British Federation of Film Society award so far for its special events and guest speakers.
It holds an event every fortnight and after next week will be moving to the new HMV Curzon cinema in Wimbledon.
Their programme for the next six months includes Oscar nominated Polish film Katyn (January 28), double Oscar-winning Milk starring Sean Penn (February 25), Palme D'Or winning German film White Ribbon (March 11), hugely acclaimed Italian film Bicycle Thieves (June 10) and a question and answer session with Mad, Sad and Bad director Avie Luthra (May 20).
