A new scheme is turning a library into a medical centre for four days.
The Circle Library, in Green Wrythe Lane, Carshalton, will be transformed to offer visitors help, advice and health checks.
Health professionals will be on hand to help on a range of health issues, ranging from losing weight, heart disease and blood pressure checks.
A number of organisations and charities will also be offering their help as part of the Health Week.
It is the first of three themed events taking place in the library, which is aiming to reach out to people by offering other services.
Regular events include mother and baby clubs, craft circles and an over-60s lunch club.
Councillor Jill Whitehead, chairman of the Environment and Neighbourhoods Committee, said: "Our libraries are real hubs in our communities with a range of activities and facilities in addition to those they are traditionally associated with.
"I urge everyone to go along to this initiative and access help and advice that could potentially save their lives."
