Police have said they "strongly believe" the body found in a Surbiton park this morning is that of missing man Malcolm McKinlay.
Mr McKinlay, 61,from Surbiton, was last seen at his home at 09.45hrs on Wednesday, 24 September.
Police were called to reports of a man collapsed in Victoria Park in Balaclava Road, Surbiton, at 10.45am today.
London Ambulance was also called, and pronounced the man dead.
A Kingston police spokesman said this afternoon: "The male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"Enquiries are ongoing to make a formal identification but police strongly believe the male to be Malcolm McKinlay.
"His next of kin has been informed."
The spokesman added that at this stage the death did not appear to be suspicious.
Forensic investigators are still trawling Victoria Park following the discovery.
