A JD Wetherspoon pub in Sutton High Street has officially shut its doors.
Sutton Guardian revealed The Grapes, situated at the junction with Benhill Avenue, would close at the end of last week (August 5).
Now trading has ceased and a notice put up on the walls of the building as patrons were thanked for visiting over the years.

The statement read: “The Grapes is now closed. Your nearest Wetherspoon pub, The Moon on the Hill, is at the top of the High Street.
“Thank you for your custom.
“All cash and items of value have been removed. CCTV and alarms remain operational.”

Staff in clothing store Bonmarché, opposite the pub, told Sutton Guardian trading stopped last Sunday while stuff was moved out the following day.
Meanwhile, the pub is listed as “permanently closed” on Google and it has been removed from the website’s pub locator page.
This now leaves The Moon on the Hill, the Nonsuch Inn in London Road, and the Whispering Moon in Woodcote Road left in Sutton.
