A woman suffering a 'medical episode' ploughed her car into a Croydon shop front this afternoon.
The vehicle remains in the kitchenware store on the corner of Tamworth Road, having crashed shortly after 1pm.
Road closures are now lifting, after officers shut down the surrounding area to deal with the incident.
The ambulance service has confirmed that two people were injured in the crash, one of whom was the driver, whose injuries are "not life-threatening."
It is unclear whether the other individual was a passenger, pedestrian or someone in the shop at the time.
Police say the vehicle will be removed in due course. The fire brigade are also present.
A spokesman for the police said: "Police were called at 13:12hrs on Wednesday, 17 April to Croydon High Street following reports of a car in collision with a shop front.
"Officers attended with LAS and LFB.
"The driver of the car, a woman [no further details], was taken to hospital; her injuries are not life-threatening.
"She is believed to have suffered a medical episode at the wheel.
"There were no other reported injuries.
"The vehicle will be removed; road closures are being lifted."
