Surrey Police are searching for the owner of a number of jewellery items recovered after a burglary in Chertsey.

The burglary happened in Chertsey on the night of December 13-14.

Two boys aged 13 and 14 were arrested by police in connection with the crime.

Surrey Police confirmed that the jewellery recovered after the burglary did not relate to the property that was targeted, as they released further details of what happened.

"The burglary in Chertsey took place overnight from December 13-14 and also involved a car being taken. The jewellery mentioned does not relate to that property.

"The jewellery includes earrings, rings, broaches, a watch and bracelets and may belong to someone in the Shepperton or Chertsey areas.

"Two boys, aged 13 and 14, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle and have been released on conditional bail," a Surrey Police spokesperson said.
