A 24-year-old man has been charged with a murder after a knife attack in 2016 in Clapham.
Jamel Boyce, then 17, was attacked in Triangle Place on October 14, 2016.
He died at a care home in Uffington Road, SE27, on 13 February 2022 as a result of his injuries.
Tyrese Osei-Kofi, of no fixed address, who was formerly convicted for grievous bodily harm with intent over the same incident now faces a murder charge.
Following Jamel's death, authorities authorised the charge, initiating a new investigation led by the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command.
The postmortem released on February 16 gave the cause of death as a chest injury from a penetrating weapon.
Jamel's family continues to receive support from police officers while they navigate through this new development in the case.
Osei-Kofi will attend a hearing at Croydon Magistrates' Court on December 27.
