A man is in hospital with hand and facial injuries after a fire in a food truck in Brixton.
Emergency services were called to Brixton Road at around 10:10am today (February 8).
A food truck had caught fire and one man sustained facial and hand injuries and went to hospital.
In a photo on X, posted by user @Ky37648313, Brixton Road was cordoned off by police with fire services in attendance.
The user claimed that this was due to an "explosion" in a food truck - although this hasn't been confirmed by police.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: “Road closures were put in place temporarily this morning after a food truck caught fire in Brixton Road at around 10:10hrs.
“One man sustained hand and facial injuries and went to hospital.”
We have contacted London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade for further information.
Shahs Food Truck exploded opposite Brixton O2 Academy. The entire corner is blocked off by Police and Fire services. Fire is contained.
