Lambeth has been rated the happiest borough in south London, according to a new study.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has used the results of a national survey which asked people to rate their level of happiness during the 12 months up to March 2023 to give district and borough council areas an average figure.
People were asked to rate their life satisfaction, happiness, and anxiety levels out of 10.
Below are the mean ratings of how happy people are in each south London borough.

Croydon was found to be the least happy, with a means score of 7.11.
In the last survey, conducted between April 2021 and March 2022, Croydon was found to have a mean score of 7.21, while Lambeth came out as the least happy, with a mean score of 6.99.
Lambeth may be considered the most desirable place to live for several reasons.
