Campaigners who led the fight to reopen beds in their community hospital held a fundraising dinner and pantomime to raise £4,300 towards their cause.
Friends of Thames Ditton Hospital organised the event at the Vera Fletcher Hall, which was attended by 100 guests.
A venison meal was followed by an after-dinner performance of Beowulf, performed by Charles Court Opera.
They have campaigned to reopen NHS intermediate care beds in the George Tickler Wing of the Thames Ditton hospital at Emberbrook and this year want to raise money towards echo cardiogram equipment.
The equipment would complement the existing consultant cardiologist clinics held at Emberbrook, enabling patients in the Esher and Thames Ditton area to be diagnosed and treated more quickly.
Friends of Thames Ditton Hospital gave more than £60,000 for new equipment four years ago.
