Sutton Central Library is set to reopen in a few weeks' time after undergoing refurbishment.
Having been closed for months since last November, it will now feature a new children’s library on the ground floor, as well as an improved café, toilets, baby changing facilities and buggy park.
There are also designs to accommodate children and adults with learning difficulties.
New self-service machines will also be installed for taking out and returning books with upgrade computers and software.
Sutton Central Library’s top floor will have new gallery space for exhibitions, meanwhile a family history centre will enable access to historic documents from the borough’s archives – dedicated access being provided to Ancestry.com.
The library will reopen on Monday, April 9.
