Members of the community have started a campaign to get an old town centre post office building back into use.
The old Kingston post office, in Ashdown Road, has been closed and unused for more than a decade.
A group of residents believe it is time to put the building back into use.
Campaigner Jean Vidler said: “It seems such a shame the property is lying empty year after year and appears to be deteriorating.
"The building has great potential to house charities, craftspeople, aspiring entrepreneurs and similar ventures."
The former post-office site is owned by developer, Hammerson, who pulled out of the ill-fated K20 project which would have seen the Eden Quarter of Kingston redeveloped five years ago.
A public meeting to discuss the old post office site will be held on Monday, July 9, from 7pm at C Scaipe at Kingston University in Penrhyn Road.
