A woman has been mystified by strange coloured lights she has seen from her garden at night.
Tonie Neighbour, 22, from Norbury, contacted the Croydon Guardian after reading our story about strange lights in Purley last week.
Jay Owen, 28, had seen a shooting-star like light which whizzed around for about 45 minutes at around 11.30 pm at the beginning of the month in the south of the borough.
Miss Neighbour said: “The moment I read that story, I realized that it is not just me, there is something very strange going on.
One of the lights was in the shape of a large ball changing from red to yellow, orange, brown and green. It seemed so big as if covering the whole of London although it was only the size of a tennis ball from where I watched it.”
Miss Neighbour said some of the lights were triangular shapes, some were small balls.
She said: “We tried both camera and video, but what showed up was the normal sky with nothing strange.”
She said first saw the light in January.
“I saw helicopters going towards them as if chasing after the lights, but when they got closer the lights just disappeared.”
She said she has asked around but no other residents admitted to seeing the lights.
“I asked a few people, but they were not sitting in their gardens watching the sky the way I was.”
She did not find the lights scary at all. “In fact, they were fun to watch.”
