England secured a hat-trick of victories over Scotland at the weekend thanks to the efforts of the borough’s rugby stars.
Fiona Pocock, who plays for Richmond Ladies, marked her international comeback from injury with a try in England Women’s 42-13 demolition of Scotland Women in Darlington last Friday.
Harlequins youngster James Chisholm earlier crossed in England U20’s 26-11 victory over the same country on the same day at the same venue.
And England’s senior side completed the clean sweep with a 25-13 Calcutta Cup triumph on Saturday – a game in which Quins full back Mike Brown might have score d twice on another day.
The three wins came a fortnight after an England Counties XV – featuring Richmond’s Chris Davies – beat a Scotland Club XV 37-3 in Lancashire.
It wasn’t all good news on the rugby front at the weekend as Richmond lost 26-19 at Blaydon in National Division One.
