Five Brixton roads will be taken over by live music and performances this Sunday as it's time for the annual Brixton Splash again.
Atlantic Road, Coldharbour Lane, Electric Avenue, Electric Lane and Pope’s Road will be overrun by a live stage, three sound systems, an arts and crafts market, kids area, street art and performers, acoustic performances, poetry and a food court.
Now in its fourth year, the Brixton Splash was initially inspired by the 25th anniversary of the 1981 uprising and is organised by residents and supported by Lambeth Council and the Metropolitan Police.
On the live stage there will be a number of performers, including Alabama 3 Sound System, Tenor Fly, The Thirst, The Lovebirds, Michael Lloyd Pinq, The Illersapiens, Ragga Rudy, Gappy Ranks, Mikey Foreigner and Hughie Crawford.
There will also be free bicycle workshop run by Crazy Bikes, Basketball matches and a food court called A Taste of Brixton, with Franco Manca, D’s Roti Shop, Caribbean Cuisine, Atlantic Bakeries and Honest Foods.
Electric Avenue will host the arts and craft market featuring paintings, prints, photography, hand painted craft, hats, bags, accessories, fragrances, gifts and a mosaic workshop.
August 2, 12-7pm, free. See brixtonsplash.co.uk.
