The line up for this year’s Book Now Literature Festival has been announced and although the Observer’s Lynn Barber withdrew from the festival after falling out with Richmond Council, there are still a number of big name writers set to appear, including Martin Amis, Steven Berkoff and AS Byatt.
We’ve picked out some of the highlights from the packed programme of events that will be taking place at various venues throughout Richmond in November.
Vince Cable, Richmond Theatre, November 8
The Liberal Democrat MP Vince Cable discusses his latest book, The Storm, about the economic crisis.
Martin Amis, Orange Tree Theatre, November 15
Martin Amis gives a sneak preview of his hotly anticipated new novel, The Pregnant Widow.
Dom Joly, Clarendon House, November 20
The Trigger Happy TV star Dom Joly previews his new travelogue, Dark Tourism Steven Berkoff, Orange Tree Theatre, November 22 The actor, director and writer reads from his new book of verse, You Remind Me of Marilyn Monroe.
AS Byatt, Coach House, November 28
AS Byatt will discuss her Booker- nominated novel, The Children’s Book, with Tibor Fischer.
