The line-up for this year's Wandsworth Arts Festival has been announced and yet again it's a cracker.
Music events, theatre events, film festivals, art exhibitions and literary events will take place throughout May in the lead up to the showpiece event, The Shimmy, which closes festivities on Sunday, May 23.
The day of spectacular outdoor arts takes place in Wandsworth Park and Putney Wharf with music in the disco shed (yes that is disco in a shed), sculptural installations, exciting interactive art projects by Graham Miller and Encounters and even a dog show.
The Shimmy is also going on tour for the first time, with Shimmy Dance in Roehampton on May 8 and Shimmy Sing in Tooting on May 15.
Elsewhere, you can act out your own drama at Southside Shopping Centre in Stans Cafe's Market Steps, listen to Chris Barber and his 11-piece band at St Luke's Church (May 15) and watch a unique improvised performance made up of the sounds of Balham at The Exhibit (May 20) You will also notice a trail of photographs hung in unusual locations from Northcote Toad to Southside Shopping Centre and catch the unique Vintage Mobile Cinema as it tours around the borough.
