Comedian Rich Hall brings his amazing Hoedown to the Epsom Playhouse this autumn. Join Rich and his virtuoso musical mates on Saturday 15 November for a mash-up of music, comedy and gratuitous coloration. Performing will be the Hoedown’s regular band of talented and chronically unemployable urchins. The floor will reek of liquor and spent dreams.
Rich has also become well known for his television and radio work. Notable UK appearances include regular appearances on ‘Stand Up For The Week’ (Channel 4), ‘QI’ (BBC1/2), ‘Live At The Apollo’ (BBC1), ‘Channel 4’s Comedy Gala Live At The O2’, ‘Have I Got News For You’ (BBC1), ‘Rich Hall’s Cattle Drive’ (BBC4), ‘Rich Hall’s Gone Fishing’ (BBC4), ‘Otis Lee Crenshaw – London Not Tennessee’ (BBC2) and ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’ (BBC2).
This is a comedian who's plain spoken growling indignation and acerbic observations have an unerring talent for hitting his targets with precision every time, leaving his audience hanging on every word, winning him fans all over the globe. Perrier (Edinburgh Comedy Festival) Award and Barry (Melbourne International Comedy Festival) Award winner Hall has been described as a transatlantic messenger lampooning each country he visits with his common sense, and he is no less harsh to his homeland.
Rich has also starred in and written six critically acclaimed documentaries for BBC Four focusing on US popular culture and the Wild West, these include; ‘Rich Hall’s Inventing The Indian’, ‘Rich Hall’s Continental Drifters’, ‘Rich Hall’s The Dirty South’, ‘How The West Was Lost’ , ‘ Rich Hall’s You Can Go to Hell, I'm Going to Texas' plus the recently screened 'Rich Hall's Californian Stars'.
