Doing your first full run at the Edinburgh Festival is an exciting thing for any comedian, but it can also be a little bit nerve-wracking.

Those are the mixed emotions going through the minds of comics Sy Thomas and Simon Feilder right now, who share a flat in Kilburn and have turned their experiences there into a sketch show previewing at Wimbledon Studios next Thursday.

"I'm excited and terrified at the same time," says Sy.

"I have done pieces of stand up there before for a week or a long weekend, but this the first time I have done a full run.

"You never really know what to expect or what's going to happen but it's exciting to be going up with a mate and someone you live with."

Simon adds: "We have both not really been doing stand up for the last few years so we are sort of relaunching ourselves, this show has been our lives for the last six months."

The two comics first met six years ago and hit it off straight away, staying friends until a room became free in Simon's house nine month's ago just as Sy was looking for somewhere new to live.

"Straight away we had a couple of ideas to do little sketches that we could stage in a flat and it kind of blossomed from there into an hour show," says Simon.

"The fact we have written the show about two single men in their late 20s means we don't have to do very much research at all, it's just us imitating our lives."

Both have had brushes with fame before, with Simon working on The Big Breakfast and Sy starring in a viral advert for Vodafone alongside Lewis Hamilton that got thousands of hits on YouTube.

"I started off doing the weather on the Big Breakfast at the end of it's run and did a bit of VT work and a few presenting bits," says Simon.

"It was the same sort of atmosphere being there as it was watching it, it was a lot of fun."

On Hamilton, Thomas says: "I spent a bit of time with him in the back of a people carrier which was a bit surreal but he was a nice down to earth guy and he has a certain aura about him."
