Following a million pound renovation to The Grand in Clapham, Comedy Carnival returns tomorrow.

Located in the heart of Clapham Junction, the nightclub hosted the Comedy Carnival from 2004, with crowds of up to 500 people and featured some of the biggest names in comedy, including Russell Brand, Michael McIntyre, Flight of the Conchords, Stephen K Amos, Rhod Gilbert, Lucy Porter, and Milton Jones.

The Grand began life as a magnificent Victorian theatre built in 1900 and thanks to the renovation has now been restored to its former beauty with sweeping balconies, ornate plasterwork and royal boxes.

The Carnival's first show back will be hosted by 2007 Funny Women award winner Kerry Godliman, who has appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and features the award-winning Will Smith, guitar-wielding comic Andi Askins and hilarious Aussie Benny Boot.

Elsewhere in the borough this weekend, Nick Wilty, Rudi Lickwood, JoJo Smith, Gordon Southern and Tania Edwards will be at Jongleurs Battersea on Friday, with Wilty, Lickwood and Smith joined on Saturday by Phil Butler and Peter Beckley.

At Banana Cabaret Andrew Maxwell, Joe Wilkinson and Diane Morgan will make you sides split on Friday, with Maxwell, Ian Stone, Mark Maier and Henning Wehn taking over the reigns on Saturday.

At the Comedy Tree Putney on Friday, jokes will be provided by Kevin Bridges, Benny Boot, and Tony Law, with Boot back in Saturday alongside Scott Capurro and English Comedian of the Year Matthew Osborn.

At Duke's Headliners on Wednesday, Lucy Porter will be headlining with support from Gwilum Argos, Gerry Howell, Neil D’Souza, David Kelly and Justin Brett, with Kate Smurthwaite Mcing.
