Young artists are invited to enter a new competition to see their art displayed on poster sites all over Merton.

The competition is offered by artist network POST, led by Tooting-based artist Pippa Koszerek.

It offers the winner a public platform, getting their work seen by thousands in the borough.

In the run-up to a new exhibition, Away Day, three POST artists will take over poster sites across Merton with specially-made art and the competition winner will see his or her artwork join the display.

In May and June, POST will be transforming Merton’s parks with Away Day, an exhibition made up of 16 new artworks.

The action will take place in the parks that inspired the pieces of artwork: Mostyn Gardens in Morden, Wandle Park in Colliers Wood and Ravensbury Park in Mitcham.

If you are 19 or under and live in Merton, all you need to do is draw, paint or make a new A4-sized image in response to Merton’s parks.

Any media can be used and images must be oriented in portrait format rather than landscape.

The closing date for entries is noon on April 5.

To enter, send your work to POST c/o Arts Development, 12th Floor, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, SM4 5DX or email a hi-res scan or photo of the piece to competition@postartists.com Entrants must include their full name and contact details.
