Oil on Canvas have had a pretty eventful three months since they last played the Green Dragon pub in March.

The four-piece pop-rock-indie outfit, which includes Croydon bassist Tom Collingwood, have recorded a new single with producer Rohan Onraet (of Mark Ronson Valerie fame), had two independent record labels approach them with deals and will soon have one of their songs feature in a new British Comedy on the BBC.

"We have had a few things going on, yes," admits Tom with a chuckle.

"Two independent labels have got in touch with us, one in London and one in Newcastle.

"We are just trying to work out what they can do for us at the moment as we are not entirely convinced.

"They say they can get us some UK tours though which would be great and they want to release the single on the internet."

That single will be Wild Strawberry's, which Tom, singer Rob Dearan, guitarist Rafael Monteiro and drummer Toby Pluta worked with Onraet on earlier this year.

"We have been working with him for a while and done two EPs with him," said former Archbishop Tenison's schoolboy Tom.

"He did change quite a bit and it took us a little while to understand what he was doing but he has had a lot of success with his other work.

"There is quite a bit of new material coming, even last night at practise we did three new songs."

In a couple of weeks, single Frogtown will be used during an episode of new BBC3 comedy Fresh, which came about through some shameless self-publicity on Tom's part.

"I did some work as an extra jumping around in the background of a few programmes and while I was there I handed out loads of CDs to people," he said.

"A few weeks later we got a message on Myspace saying Frogtown was in the show so will be probably all sit together and enjoy it."
