Few people know Croydon is the strongest supporting London borough of Premier Christian Radio and to show their appreciation the station will be taking over Fairfield Halls on Tuesday week.

At lunchtime, presenter Maria Toth will be doing a live recording of her programme Woman to Woman, all about women's issues, before singers from the biggest Baptist Church in America will be showcasing their talents in the evening.

"It's not a live broadcast but recorded for later," says event organiser Kevin Bennett of Maria's show.

"There will be music sections, comment on what's going on in the world and lots of audience participation too.

"She's going to have special guests, including Sue Rinaldi who will be playing some music, doing an interview and answering questions from the audience."

Singer-songwriter and worship leader Sue has released three solo albums since leaving the band Heartbeat in 1991 and has spent the last few years performing in numerous countries - including a Millennium New Year’s Eve concert in front of 60,000 people on an Australian beach.

"The evening event is a partnership between Premier Christian Radio and Trinity Baptist Church who are actually moving in to central Croydon from South Norwood in the near future," continues Kevin.

"Prestonwood Baptist Church - the biggest Baptist Church in the States - are sending over a gospel choir with 250 choristers who will be performing alongside 100 more from Trinity Baptist Church Choir in an evening of contemporary and traditional gospel music."
