The final concert of the 2008-09 season at St John’s, Spencer Hill, takes place this coming Sunday.
Quintet Zambra are arousing interest from audiences across the United Kingdom with their energetic and innovative programmes and have performed for the Duke of Edinburgh and also made an unforgettable appearance at the Gherkin building in London.
The quintet players, as well as being dedicated to chamber music, are skilled orchestral players and can often be seen playing with the country’s leading orchestras including the Scottish Chamber Oorchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic and the Liverpool Philharmonic.
The concert will include quintets by Debussy, Mozart and Neilsen and Quintet Zambra will be joined by local pianist Michael Higgins in Poulenc’s exuberant Sextet.
