State of Undress will be back at the Halfmoon in Putney this Sunday as part of their latest tour taking them from the shores of Devon all the way up to Scotland.

The Dorset based band, who describe themselves as "rocky, rootsy and fiddlesome", combine guitar, violin and drum and bass to create a distinctive blend of country and folk-rock music.

They will be supported at the Halfmoon by London-based singer-songwriter Stew Simpson, who will be opening the evening with a 35-minute set. "We love playing at the Halfmoon," says Charlie Rose, lead vocalist and one of the writers for State of Undress.

"It’s such a unique venue with a great atmosphere and so much history and it’s great to be sharing a stage with Stew.

"We met when we were both playing at the Two Rivers Festival in Wales in the summer.’" After a busy summer performing at festivals and fairs around the country, the band have just released a new mini-album called Livin’ it, Lovin’ it!

The album has been given a warm reception from critics, with tracks One More Shot and Red Waters being particularly well received.

"Both of those tracks are produced by Grant Showbiz, Billy Bragg’s long-time producer," says Alan Rose, the band's guitarist and co-writer.

"Until now, they’ve only been available as download singles.

"The other five tracks we’ve produced ourselves and the title Livin it’, Lovin’ it! is taken from the album track Mudeford Mood about the little Dorset fishing village near where we live.

"But more importantly it also sums up how we as a band feel about writing and playing our music."
