Since the Croydon Guardian last spoke to The Tunics in November 2008, they've been awfully busy.
Back then they had a residency at South Croydon pub The Edge and were starting work on their first album, Somewhere in Somebody's Heart.
Now, they have played to sold out crowds in Russia, Germany and Spain on their own European tour, have recorded two music videos that have beeen played on E4 and are working on their second album.
"Things have been going pretty well," says lead singer Joe Costello, from Shirley, rather modestly.
"The European tour was amazing and we can now say we are big in Russia.
"That is the upside of internet downloading, it gives bands of our stature a way to be propelled forward a lot quicker as people from places like Russia can access the music so much easier.
"The crowds in Germany were very good and we are going back there to support Nada Surf next month.
"The reception we got from them was fantastic and it's an amazing feeling to see people in other countries singing back your lyrics.
"I remember when we got to a venue in Stuttgart and were wondering if anyone would turn up but it was packed full of people and I think four of the seven dates we did were sold out."
This Sunday, the three-piece indie rock outfit headline the Sunday night of the four-day long Easter Screamfest at Scream Lounge and are treating it as somewhat of a homecoming gig.
"We haven't done a gig in Croydon for a long time, too long really," says Joe.
"It is going to be really good fun and hopefully there will be lots of people down there.
"It's been a long time since we were at The Edge but it's good to be back and playing at a proper music venue in Croydon.
"It's a nice way to give something back to our core fan base as Croydon is where it all began."
The Screamfest features top names such as Senser, Solid State, KB Fusionnaires and Brothers of Mothershovell across almost 40 hours of music in the venues three different roooms.
