Shadow Gallery may have been together for almost two decades and released six studio albums, but amazingly they have never toured live - until now.
The progressive metallers from America have embarked on their first ever tour and come to The Peel on Sunday to play their one and only UK gig before venturing into mainland Europe.
The catalyst behind the decision to get on stage was the release of album Digital Ghosts last year, which introduces new vocalist Brian Ashland who came into the band following the death of lead singer and founding member Mike Baker from a heart attack two years ago when just 45.
Despite the tragedy, the band were insistent on finishing the album they had started with Baker and are now keen to be out on the road.
"Our fans in Europe have been eagerly waiting for the day that Shadow Gallery would take the stage and we are happy to finally be able to make this journey together," said guitarist Gary Wehrkamp.
They will be supported by modern rock band Maplerun, a four-piece from Greece.
