Three years after winning the title of Croydon’s best unsigned music act, singer song writer De’Borah is preparing to launch her second EP, A Thousand Tongues.
Growing up in a musical family, De’Borah started writing and singing songs aged 11.
Not long after being awarded the title of Croydon’s Best Unsigned Music Act in 2009, the former student of the Brit School for Performing Arts released her debut EP Seasons and supported double Ivor Novello award-winner Chris Difford from Squeeze.
Now, after a period touring the festival scene, including the Secret Garden Party and venues in and around London, Brighton and the south-east, De’Borah delivers beautifully written songs with a gorgeous clear voice in this latest recording.
The 21-year-old has recently moved back to London and is inviting old fans and new to her free EP launch at the Lexington on Friday, July 15.
She says: “As the title track speaks about innocence and what matters to the worldwide community, I also ran a songwriting workshop inspired by the title track with a group of kids from the Southbank International School in London who helped to design the cover artwork for the EP.”
De’Borah, A Thousand Tongues EP launch, July 15 The Lexington, 96-98 Pentonville Road, N1 9JB, 8pm. Entry is free.
