Chris Ramsey has revealed that his wife is less than happy about his dramatic weight loss on Strictly Come Dancing.

The comedian, 33, is married to singer and actress Rosie Winter and the pair share a young son, Robin.

He said that instead of being pleased with his new physique, she was “a little bit angry” he had slimmed down without having to go to the gym.

He said: “It is no secret that she is a little bit angry that I have lost so much while doing work. It’s not like I have had to go to a gym.

“I’ve got a really good metabolism. I can eat basically what I want and not be huge.

“She’s very used to being annoyed at how I look. So yeah – just more of that, which just gives me endless joy.”

The stand-up, from South Shields, Tyne and Wear, said he was looking forward to putting the weight back on over the Christmas period, after Strictly ends.

He added: “Honestly, I put a dress jacket on today that I wear if I am doing a corporate gig or a bit of a posh gig, or hosting awards or something.

“I put my jacket on today for a VT (a pre-filmed segment) and I could button it. And I have never been able to button it in my life.

“Night and day I have lost so much weight, around my face as well. My posture is better.

“I am looking forward to undoing all that good work over Christmas.”

Asked what he planned on eating over the festive period, he replied: “Everything in the world. All of the meats, all of the cheeses, all of the carbs, all of the beer, all of the stuff all of the time.”

Ramsey competed in the semi-finals on Saturday night alongside his professional partner Karen Hauer, where the four remaining celebrities had to dance two different routines for the first time this series.

He also addressed the rumour that one Strictly pairing had started a relationship off-screen, saying the idea was a “unicorn” because it did not exist.

He said: “It’s like asking us how we feel about the unicorn that is standing outside.

“I have got no opinion on it because it’s not there.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One.
