Lucasarts have confirmed that the swashbuckling cult classic, Monkey Island 2: Le Chuck’s Revenge is getting a HD makeover.
Following on from last years ‘The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition’, the original follow up will be getting the very same treatment, which will include a graphical facelift and along with some new voice overs.
If you are unfamiliar with the original, the plot picks up after the first game.
Having defeated the evil ghost pirate LeChuck in his first adventure, pirate extraordinaire Guybrush Threepwood sets his sights on the treasure of Big Whoop. Legendary treasures however, come with legendary challenges and Guybrush will have to use his wits and humor to prove himself the greatest pirate in the Caribbean.
Voodoo dolls, spitting contests and amusement parks are just some of the challenges Guybrush must overcome as he meets old friends, fights familiar enemies and uses every single ounce of his wits to become the most celebrated pirate ever.
Like it’s predecessor, the special edition of Monkey Island 2 looks set to include both the new shiny version, along with the classic 2D version that was original released.
