The deadline for submitting plays for the oneACTS 2009 festival at the cornerHOUSE is looming, with July 19 being the final date for entry. All scripts should be between 15 and 30 minutes’ long.
The new writing festival runs from November 9 to 14 at the arts centre in Tolworth and the cornerHOUSE also wants to hear from anyone who is keen to direct one of the scripts.
Meta Thomas, chair of the cornerHOUSE artistic committee, says: “The oneACTS gives a director plenty of scope for being imaginative without the burden of taking on a full-time show.
“As the plays are only 15 to 30 minutes’ long, it is also the perfect opportunity for those who haven’t directed before to dip their toes in the water.
“Plus you will be part of a supportive team, enjoying the buzz of working with other directors, playwrights, actors and crew to put on a week-long feast of original entertainment.”
Directors will be chosen in August and auditions will be held in September. To enter a play and for more information, email oneacts2009@ thecornerhouse.org
