Wimbledon Studio previews two very different Edinburgh Festival shows next week.
First up is Eyes Wide Theatre Company's Sea Spray and Cuckoo Spit on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by Susie Baxter's one woman play Guilty Women next Thursday and Friday.
Sea Spray and Cuckoo Spit is set in a small fishing town on the South Devon coast, where fantasy and reality collide when the sea brings a stranger to a family struggling to live with loss and a teenage daughter who retreats into her own world.
The members of the company are all graduates and students from East 15 Acting School and this will be their first Edinburgh experience.
In Guilty Women Susie Baxter plays 10 different women all with one connection - they have the same cleaning lady.
Among the characters are a molecular biologist, an aging ex-footballer's wife who refuses to donate a kidney to her dying daughter, a woman who realises she has to murder her husband and a defiant former stock-broker out to remake her fortune.
Baxter was most recently on our screens playing Dot Sutherland in Coronation Street.
New Wimbledon Studio, The Broadway, Sea Spray and Cuckoo Spit, July 21 and 22, Susie Baxter, July 23 and 24, 7.30pm, £7.50. Call 0870 060 6646 or visit ambassadortickets.com/wimbledon.
