Nearly three decades since David Macdonald's Summit Conference was first premiered, the play is still as fresh as ever.
Presented by FallOut Productions and directed by Kitt Thacker, the story centres around the lives of Eva Braun and Clara Patacci, the respective lovers of much-feared dictators Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.
The pair meet at the height of World War Two at the Reich Chancery in Berlin and what begins as an amiable tea for two quickly develops into something much more devious.
With Hitler and Mussolini busy discussing the war, the women hold a summit of their own.
Previously hidden whisky and cigarettes replace the light refreshments as the friendly banter of two women not previously acquainted turns into something much more insidious.
Fuelled by the power crazy, hate-filled ideologies of their men, the women mutually defile each other.
In a sudden twist, they join in allegiance to focus their attention on the SS uniformed guard who becomes the centre of the women’s vicious power-game as they search for signs of Jewish origins beneath his uniform disguise.
Summit Conference, New Wimbledon Studio, The Broadway, September 22 to 26, 7.45 pm (Saturday Matinee 3pm), £12. Call 0870 060 6646 or visit ambassadortickets.com/wimbledon
