And Then They Came For Me, the story of Holocaust survivor Eva Schloss, is coming to Richmond Theatre for three performances on Monday. Zac Goldsmith prospective Conservative candidate for Richmond Park, who is co-hosting the evening, tells us why Eva’s story should never be forgotten.

On Monday, September 21, I will be co-hosting the moving and important play, And Then They Came For Me, at Richmond Theatre.

It tells the story of Eva Schloss, Britain’s best known Holocaust survivor and the step-sister of Anne Frank. It describes the tragic events leading up to her capture by the Nazis, her ordeal in Auschwitz, and her eventual release.

Eva’s is a story that was played out millions of times, but I believe it is only possible to take in the full horror of that period if we look closely at its effects on individual families. Only at that human level can we truly relate.

We are fortunate that Eva herself will be attending the performances and will answer questions from the public.

There will be three performances of the award-winning play on the day, so everyone will have a chance to meet her.

My heartfelt thanks go to Eva. She is a truly remarkable woman, energetic and committed after all these years to sharing her story with us all.
