Variety Show: Best of British at Fairfield Halls, Croydon

Cannon & Ball remain from last year's line up but this time they are joined by newcomers Tom O’Connor, Bucks Fizz, Roger De Courcey, Norman Collier and top impressionist Faith Brown, who has been thoroughly enjoying her outings around the country so far.

"It's been going amazingly well," says the 65-year-old.

"I think it's all because of Britain's Got Talent because want to see a bit of variety.

"They have asked me to be involved the last two years and I haven't been able but I could this year and thought it would be nice to get together with everyone.

"I worked on Cannon & Ball's show so it's great to be back together with them.

"The last time I toured was when I played Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard in 2003 but to be perfectly honest I love it when I am performing on stage but the travelling is a bit of a bane, the driving is very heavy duty."

Brown has been doing impressions since the early 1970s and is constantly developing new ones to add to her show.

"I'm doing a lot of new ones like Duffy and Amy Winehouse at the minute," she says.

"I've also started doing Susan Boyle as I can do her singing voice and her little Scottish voice.

"I try to cater for the young and the old and include my impressions of Tina Turner, Marilyn Monroe and Barbara Streisand.

"Margaret Thatcher is still very popular and I do an impression of her signing the Pussycat Dolls' Don't Cha."

So is there anyone that she can't do?

"I've have been very lucky up to now," she says.

"I have been able to do them though some are tougher than others.

"I started out with rock people like Turner and used to be known as the female Tom Jones way back in the day.

"But I haven't as yet come across anyone I can't do, but now you've asked that I guarantee there will be someone soon."
