Following the success of Stig of the Dump last year, the Tabard Theatre will be bringing another children’s favourite to its stage this Christmas with a new musical based on Enid Blyton’s The Famous Five.
With lashings of ginger beer and ham sandwiches, Julian, Dick, Ann, George and, of course, Timmy the dog will go on an adventure involving lost caves, sunken ships and abandoned treasure.
The same creative team that brought Stig of the Dump to the Tabard returns with Richard Williams, the former artistic director of the Unicorn Theatre, adapting Blyton’s books and Leon Parris (Wolfboy, Scary Musical) composing the music.
Russell Labey, who has directed Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Sunset Boulevard in the West End, also returns to direct a talented company of six actors who will bring Blyton’s adventurers alive.
The show begins its run on Tuesday evening with performances at 1.30pm and 7pm.
The Famous Five, The Tabard Theatre, Turnham Green, December 8 to January 10, £16/£13, visit tabardtheatre.co.uk or call 08448 472264 for more information and to book tickets.
