A star-studded Christmas revue is being hosted next Sunday to raise money for a church in Putney.

Stage and screen actress Virginia McKenna OBE (Born Free, A Town Like Alice) is performing in The Gift of Christmas at All Saints' Church, Putney Common.

She will be joined by actors Nick Waring, Amanda Waring and David Simeon, who will be bringing the West End to a local venue.

Multiple aspects of the festive season will be explored through poetry and plays by Charles Dickens, John Betjemann and Alan Ayckbourn which have been specially selected by actor/director Ms Waring.

Music will be performed by award-winning pianist Philip Mountford, who will be delighting audiences with his renditions of Vivaldi and Telemann.

All proceeds from the event go to the All Together, All Saints Appeal which enhances the work and worship at the church.

The cast of the show are all performing free of charge, with £1, 175 already raised for the appeal.

Virginia McKenna said: "It is a fantastic show which has been well received internationally and truly gets you into the Christmas spirit.
