Huge numbers of people recently marched through nearby Epsom to protest over local hospital cuts.
Similar scenes are likely to occur in Spelthorne and Runnymede judging by reports of planned cuts here.
It is worth remembering that all this results from the huge £547 million deficit the NHS has managed to accrue.
This is despite the doubling of the government grant since 2000. There has to be some pretty serious questioning about how this situation has arisen.
Some explanations have been given but it's pretty perplexing for the average tax payer.
The NHS is not safe in the hands of New Labour. The sooner they pass the baton to someone more qualified the better.
