Remembrance Sunday gives us a chance to reflect on past happenings with the hope that, one day, we may look forward to a world without wars.
While we pay tribute to the millions of men and women who gave their lives in two world wars, we also remember those who died or have been injured since then in many other conflicts around the world. The Royal British Legion helps ex-service people who suffered injuries and their dependents, in many ways. The poppy appeal enables them to continue this important work. I ask everyone to give generously to the annual poppy appeal.
