Local residents believe Labour did a good job managing the borough.
A balanced and extensive residents' survey in July and early August show that at the end of Labour's term of office, 69 per cent believed the council was doing a good job, an increase of seven per cent on the previous year, and 64 per cent believed Merton was a better place to live - up five per cent.
Residents also believed services had continually improved under Labour with 68 per cent saying the refuse collection was good or excellent - up three per cent on the previous year alongside improvements of two per cent for recycling, three per cent for fly-tip removal, four per cent for leisure facilities, five per cent for roads and pavements, six per cent for street cleaning, seven per cent for street lighting and eight per cent more believing parks and open spaces are good or excellent.
