The festive season truly arrived this week as the annual Winter Wonderland event exploded onto the streets of Wimbledon.
Thousands turned out to watch the annual parade wind its way down the Broadway on Thursday, November 29, led by the exotic Taste of Brasil samba dancers who were followed by dozens of groups including AFC Wimbledon and Haydon the Womble, Morden Primary School, Haslemere Primary School, Wimbledon Chase Primary School, the Mayor of Merton and the borough brass brand, YMCA London South West and of course Father Christmas.
Actor Warwick Davis, known for his roles in Willow, Star Wars and more recently Harry Potter, then led the countdown to a spectacular firework display from the roof top of the centre court shopping centre.
The celebrations, organised by Love Wimbledon, continued into the night with entertainment, market stalls and a vast array of hot food stalls until 8pm.
Davis is set to star alongside Priscilla Presley in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the New Wimbledon Theatre pantomime this Christmas.
