The finale of a spectacular dance project will be staged in Croydon after a school for Indian culture received a pledge of thousands of pounds from the Lottery Fund.
About 80 pupils from non profit-making organisation Sutton Suprang will descend on Ashcroft Theatre after the fund pledged £5,000 to Dances For India, an extravaganza of folk dances from various regions of the Indian subcontinent.
The colourful music and costumes which will be on show have even been especially flown in direct from India, with the sounds coming courtesy of famous director Ashit Desai.
Sutton Suprang has been running since 1990, teaching music, language and choreography from India to those aged between 10 and fifty-years-old.
