A £20million investment to improve public transport, parking and road safety over the next five years was approved by the mayor of London last week.

Ken Livingstone has supported Croydon's Local Implementation Plan, which is designed to radically improve transport in the borough.

Key areas for regeneration include extensions to Tramlink and its Vision 2020 programme to help regenerate the borough's town centres, including plans to reduce through-traffic in Croydon Town Centre.

Also included are securing the future of Coulsdon, creating new open spaces and improving service access for businesses in New Addington.

Cycle routes are also up for improvement along with increased cycle parking facilities in Croydon town centre and rewards will be provided to encourage children and parents to walk to school at least once a week.
