It is all very well to fine cyclists for riding on the pavement. If, however, you cycle on the roads of Kingston, you take your life in your hands, with excessive and inconsiderate traffic.
Cycle lanes are discontinuous and don't continue across side roads (ie the cyclist is at risk here). Cars are often parked on the cycle lanes (example - Sunday mornings outside churches) to pull out to pass these cars is most hazardous.
The obvious safe place to cycle is the promenade from Kingston to Harts Boatyard. But even here it is not allowed.
Despite my desire to cycle rather than use the car, I have decided to give up and stay alive.
