The Post Office has unveiled plans for its Wallington Crown branch.
Based on Ross Parade it could be moved into another shop in the area.
However, the Post Office said that if no retail partner is found for the branch, it will be "business as usual".
Elsewhere, branches have been moved into WH Smith stores and Co-ops.
This week it was announced that 70 of the country's 370 Crown Post Offices could be moved, but the Post Office insist it is not a closure programme.
A Post Office spokesperson said: "Crown branches are a fundamental part of our long term growth strategy and need to be brought into profit (currently operating at a £40m annual loss). To maintain our high street presence we will be looking to find retail partners for 70 of our branches enabling us to stay in these locations."
The Post Office recently erected a plaque on a gold post box in Mollison Drive, Wallington, to recognise the Roundshaw Estate's paralympic hero David Weir.
