Further to Nick Padget’s letter (Virtual traffic wardens are a big shock to the system, February 7) regarding parking tickets at Earlsfield station, I too have been the recipient of a ticket while collecting my son from Earlsfield station. My son is disabled and has a blue badge.
The only way for him to get to the station is if I drive him and, as there is absolutely nowhere for me to stop legitimately at certain times of the day, we have to do a silly game of guessing when the lights will be red so he can get out. On occasion this has resulted in driving round the block.
I have got quite adept at reading the traffic lights now. Picking him up is a more difficult matter, especially as he is unable to move at any speed, and requires quite a few trips round the block. Mr Padget, you most certainly have my sympathy.
