Police and vets were on hand at I Love Roundshaw Week.
Residents made the most of free bike marking and dog micro-chipping at Phoenix Centre, Wallington.
The initiative was arranged by Beddington South Safer Neighbourhoods Team, who were joined by staff from the Riverside Animal Centre.
The three-hour event from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday February 13 was part of the I Love Roundshaw Week.
Police officers told people about the borough's LEAD initiative - Local Environmental Awareness on Dogs - which encourages responsible ownership of all breeds of dog.
Other officers were on hand to give general crime prevention advice about how to be safe and protect your home from opportunist thieves.
Sergeant Paul Cole said: "Despite the extremely cold biting wind on the day, local residents showed their support to police in making the area safe for everyone to enjoy."
