More than 100 people showed their support at a meeting this week to save closure-threatened Clapham Fire Station.

Last Monday's meeting, which was held at Clapham's Bread and Roses pub, was attended by Labour MP Kate Hoey, London Assembly member Val Shawcross and Iain Lehair from the Fire Brigades Union (FBU).

Clapham Fire Station is one of 12 earmarked for closure, including Knightsbridge, Southwark and Westminster, in order to save more than £28m.

An FBU member called for a march in south London next month to raise further awareness.

Another meeting, organised by the FBU, will be held at the same location on February 25, 7pm.
