A driver whose car overturned and ended up on its roof escaped with minor injuries this afternoon.

It is unclear how the blue Clio came to be completely overturned in Wellesley Road, Twickenham.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said they were called at 3.20pm and sent one ambulance and a single responder in a car to the scene.

The spokesman said: “Staff treated one patient for minor facial injuries and head injuries.

“They have not been taken to hospital.”

Police cordoned off the road to traffic but were due to remove the restriction as soon as the car was taken away by a tow truck, which was on the scene.
