Four fire crews tackled the fire
Firefighters tackled flames at a mechanic's workshop on Saturday night.
They were called to a fire at a garage on Russell Hill Place in Purley after being alerted by a passer-by at 9.12pm.
Four crews from Croydon, Purley, Wallington and Woodside attended the scene. They had extinguished the blaze, in one of the garage's workshops, by 10.20pm.
The garage suffered 25 per cent fire damage but no one was hurt.
